Prabhas Raju Uppalapati (Telugu: ప్రభాస్ రాజు ఉప్పలపాటి), popularly known as Prabhas, is an Indian film actor in Telugu cinema.


Personal life

Prabhas was born to Suryanarayana Raju and Siva Kumari. His family is from Moghalthur. Born October 23, 1979. He is the second of three children. Born October 23, 1979. He has one brother, Prabodh, and a sister, Pragathi. He is the nephew of south star and politician Krishnam Raju Uppalapati.

Career

Prabhas started his movie career with Eeshwar in 2001. In 2003, he was the lead in Raghavendra. Both of Prabhas's early movies allowed him to stand out among lead actors in Tollywood. He gained stardom in 2004 with M.S. Raju's film, Varsham opposite Trisha Krishnan. He followed with Adavi Raamudu and Chakram. In September 2005 he made the film Chatrapathi, opposite actress Shriya Saran. Chatrapathi was followed by Pournami, Yogi and Munna Bujjigadu, Billa and Ek Niranjan. Darling came out in 2010 followed by the release Mr. Perfect in 2011 both of which were big hits in their respective years of release. Rebel is set to release in late 2011.[citation needed]

Balanathan "Balu" Mahendran (Tamil: பாலநாதன் மகேந்திரா) (born 20 May 1946 in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka) is an Indian filmmaker, screenwriter, and cinematographer widely regarded as part of the first in a wave of directors and screenwriters from the Chennai film industry who revitalised Tamil cinema. He initially developed an early interest in photography.

A cinematography graduate and a gold medalist from the FTII in Pune. He started his film career as a cameraman for the Malayalam film Nellu in 1974, which earned him the best cinematographer award from the Government of Kerala. He has been chosen as the best cinematographer for as many as ten films. He pioneered innovative camera style for colour in South India. He has won five National Film Awards and three Filmfare Awards South.
